Update Email 1.11.2018
This coming Sunday we will begin a 22 week series in John’s Gospel. Click Here to view the sermon card. Please pray for me that I would prepare and deliver faithful, clear and compelling messages that magnify Jesus and edify GBC. Also, I want to commend to you The Bible Project resources on John; they provide a very good overview of the book. Lastly, read John’s Gospel; it is wonderful!
Below is an update on the life and ministry of GBC.
Here is how you can pray for GBC and our work in the world
- With MLK Day on the horizon, we are reminded of the progress that we have made toward a more equitable, harmonious and just society; praise God. And we are reminded that there is still work for us to do. Let’s pray that God would powerfully display the unity of Christ by bridging racial and cultural divides through the local church.
Here is what’s happening in the life of the church
- Save the Date
Church Picnic – June 24th @ Red Sunset Park
Church Campout – August 10-12 @ Promontory Park
- Women’s Ministry Bible Studies
Next Tuesday, January 16th is our next Women’s Ministry event at the GBC study from 7-9pm. Lynsey Bock will begin a study on the attributes of God from Isaiah 40.
Also, a study in the book of James begins January 21st. There are four options to choose from.
- Children’s Ministry:
Children’s Ministry is in need of 2 new Seeds Teachers (2-3 year old class). This role is served 1x per month and involves following the class schedule—playing, reading a story/verse, snack, coloring, and an active game. There is no regular planning involved. Please let Lisa or Megan know if this is a place you would like to serve!
- Two ways to get involved with global missions
Global Outreach meeting this Sunday January 14th. 12:30-2:30pm. RSVP to Thomas Slawson.
Mission ConneXion at Rolling Hills Church in Tualatin, January 19-20. It’s FREE! But you must pre-register online at www.missionconnexion.com.
Our Upcoming Gathering
Lord willing, Angela Stump will lead our service, Marc will lead us in singing and I will open our series in John’s Gospel preaching, 1:1-18. Please pray for our gathering, read over the text and come ready to worship.
