Update Email 11.22.2017
This year I am once again tasked with preparing the protein for Thanksgiving. Our guests very much look forward to the annual brine, rubbed, shuttlecocked, smoke roasted bird. But more than the food, I am looking forward to a great day with family. Praying that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Below is a brief update on the life and ministry of GBC.
Here is how you can pray for GBC and our work in the world
- Christians ought to be marked by gratitude. We are commanded to “give thanks in all circumstances.” And we are told to “continue steadfastly in prayer… with thanksgiving.” Our prayer this week is to thank the Lord for the many benefits he has given to us.
Here is what’s happening in the life of the church
- The Chili Feed was a success. Many thanks to all who participated.
- Student Ministries
High School – Cancelled for November 26th
Jr. High – Cancelled for November 27th
- Day of Fasting – Next Wednesday, November 29th
Once again our church will spend a day in corporate fasting and prayer. Click HERE to view the day of fasting guide. Additionally, HERE is a link of a message I preached on fasting.
The Sound Team is currently shorthanded and looking for help. The Sound Team is responsible for setup and tear down of the sound system, mixing the overall sound during services, and recording the Sunday morning sermon. It’s a big (and important) behind-the-scenes job, but we’ll provide training. Previous experience is desirable, but not required. A musical ear is necessary. Members of the sound team will serve approximately once a month (after training). If interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
- GBC 101, Sunday December 3rd 4-6pm
Please let me know if you are planning to attend.
Our Upcoming Gathering
Lord willing, Dave Berry will lead our service, Marc will lead us in singing and Dan Stump will preach 1 Timothy 6. Please pray for our gathering, read over the passage and come ready to worship.
