Rob Strickland

Rob is a native Oregonian, growing up around Portland with a short stint in Tillamook (you know, cows, cheese and rain). He is blessed to have been introduced to the good news of the gospel as a young child by loving Christian parents and continues to experience delight in discovering the riches we have in Christ.

After college, Rob met his wife of 32 years (Linda) on a blind date, which was obviously a surprising success. Together they enjoyed the antics of three active children who are now happily married and live close enough to be pestered by their parents. Rob & Linda also recently joined the ranks of proud grandparents and will enthusiastically share their joy whenever asked.

Rob works as the Ergonomist (what is that??) for Legacy Health System and Linda recently retired from teaching. They mostly love hanging out with family & friends and making new friends. The Stricklands have also perfected their ability to travel around the US and beyond on a shoestring budget. Rob’s other interests include music, hiking, exploring God’s creative masterpieces in nature, kayaking, wood working and experimenting with food recipes. If you dare, he is always willing to experiment with a new recipe on unsuspecting visitors.

Little known fact: Rob’s maternal grandmother, immigrating from Norway to the US, was scheduled to sail on the Titanic in 1912. Fortunately for me, as you may have guessed, she and my Uncle John were detained by a storm in the North Sea and failed to board that famous ship. They are still listed as “missing, presumed drowned” in historical documents in Norway, but we know better!
