Gresham Bible Church Update

admin

Thank you all for a wonderful send off this last Sunday. Our family was overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity. It has been an absolute privilege to serve alongside you in ministry and to do life together over the last 12 years. You have shared in our highs and in our lows, you have prayed for us, befriended us, supported us and served us. We will always look back fondly on our time with GBC.

In the coming days and weeks your elders and deacons and staff will need your prayers and support. Please ask God to give them spiritual strength to trust in Christ and to lead by faith. Pray also for the preaching team as they fill the pulpit this summer. And pray for the process of calling GBC's next lead pastor. May the Lord give wisdom and grace to you all.

Here is what's happening in the life and ministry of GBC

  • Stay in the loop with the new church plant
Simply reply to this email with "count me in" if you would like to be on our mailing list. We won't clutter your inbox. You can expect to receive one or two (at the most) updates each month. The purpose is to inform you about the progress of the plant and to give you clear direction in prayer.

  • Student Ministries Incoming 6th Graders
All incoming 6th graders and their parents are invited to attend an informational meeting after church in the Orchard room on June 9th about youth ministry and the calendar for the summer.

  • Combo Youth Group
Due to the Memorial Day weekend Jr High and High School group will combine this Sunday and meet from 5:30-7pm in the Study.

  • GBC 101 on June 9th, 12:30-2:30pm. RSVP to Noël Rodman.

Our Upcoming Gathering

Lord willing, Marc Peter will lead us in music, Anthony Perez will lead our service, and Jordan Bradley will preach Matthew 18:21-35. Please pray for our gathering, read over the text

Gresham Bible Church Update

admin

This coming Sunday will be a bittersweet day of excitement and loss. So many of you have expressed your joy about sending us out and at the same time I know that this is a difficult transition for most. I read an article recently titled 10 Ways to Navigate Pastoral Transition that I think you will find helpful. Kelsey and I are eager to go but very sad to leave. God has done so much good work in our lives through GBC; you all will be missed greatly.

Here is what's happening in the life and ministry of GBC

  • Send-off/Farewell Service
We would love to see you all this coming Sunday for our send-off/farewell service. This will be a very special day, with a lunch reception directly following the service. Additionally, we will receive an offering to help with the start-up costs for the new church plant (please mark "church plant" in the memo line).

  • Brown Church Plant Interest Meetings
For those of you who want to know how you can better pray for us, hear more about what we will be doing, or how you can partner with us, please join us for one of our interest meetings being held at our home.

From foster care to adoption, we have the unique opportunity to love and teach lots of different kids. If you would like to join Megan, Lisa, and many of our teachers for this training to help collaborate how GBC can best grow in this area, please email Lisa Perez.
