Church Family,

Many thanks to you all for giving to support the Haiti team and for generously donating first aid and school supplies for the trip. We are so very proud of the group going and proud of your support in their sending.

Below is a brief update on the life and ministry of GBC.

Here is how you can pray for GBC and our work in the world

  • Our Haiti team departs on Friday. Please pray that God will bless their time and service in Haiti. Pray for effective ministry and for the encouragement of Haitian believers.

Here is what’s happening in the life of the church

  • Children’s Ministries
There is no Sunday School class for the month of August for Sprouts, Greenhouse, and Harvest. It is an opportunity to give those who serve so faithfully, a break. There will still be classes for Seeds and Nursery. All classes will resume September 3rd.
  • Student Ministries
Jr. High – Waffle Cone Wednesday ($1) August 2nd
High School – Sandy River Float, August 6th. Details on the Facebook page and an email will be sent out.
  • Camp Out Next Weekend!
We will not hold a Sunday service at Dexter McCarty on August 13th.
Our service will be held at Promontory Park at 6:15pm. If you are not camping, you are welcome to join us for the Saturday service and stay for the talent show that follows.
Also, we still have a few campsite remaining. Follow THIS LINK to register.

Our Upcoming Gathering

Lord willing, Sandy Snavely will lead our service, Danny Nedelisky will lead us in singing, we will baptize some new believers and I will preach Psalm 124. Please pray for our gathering, read over the text and come ready to worship.

Church Family,

I have enjoyed spending time in the psalms this summer. Along with the teaching and instruction I’ve received, the psalms have been a powerful guide in prayer. If you are curious about how to incorporate the psalms into your prayers, consider this brief article by Don Whitney, “Why You Should Be Praying the Psalms.”

Below is a brief update on the life and ministry of GBC.

Here is how you can pray for GBC and our work in the world

  • Let’s pray this week for our Haiti team as they make final preparations for their trip. Pray for spiritual and physical strength in these final days as they complete remaining tasks. And pray that they will be filled with joy in anticipation of serving others in the name of Jesus Christ.

Here is what’s happening in the life of the church

  • Help For Haiti
Our Haiti missions team is collecting supplies for  their upcoming trip. They are in need of first aid supplies and new school supplies. Please bring your donations to our worship service at Dexter McCarty, this coming Sunday, July 30th. Your contributions will be used to help aid the education and recovery efforts in Haiti.
  • Campout
The church camp out is in less than 3 weeks! There’s still time to sign up for the weekend or just for the day on Saturday. Follow this LINK to register. Update: the only GBC provided meal will be dinner on Saturday evening. Please make plans for all other meals. We hope you will spend that time in fellowship with other families camped near you.
  • Student Ministries
High Schoolers! This Sun (the 30th) is our “Putt & Pizza” night. Please RSVP to Dave.
Cost is $16/person for the event.

Our Upcoming Gathering

Lord willing, Dave Berry will lead our service, Marc will lead us in singing, we will send off our Haiti team and I will preach Psalm 90. Please pray for our gathering, read over the text and come ready to worship.
